How Chinese Companies Can Build Private Traffic in Uzbekistan: Our First Business Model Validation with 544 Bottles of Laundry Detergent

Why Are More Chinese Companies Entering the Uzbekistan Market?

Over the past few years, Uzbekistan has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for Chinese companies expanding into Central Asia. From electric vehicles and consumer electronics to food, beverages, and daily consumer goods, more Chinese brands are choosing Uzbekistan as their first stop in the region. However, many businesses soon face the same challenge:Getting products into the market is relatively easy. Building sustainable sales is much harder.Traditional B2B distribution models rely heavily on wholesalers and local distributors. While this approach can generate initial sales, companies often lose direct access to consumers and valuable customer data.So the question becomes:How can Chinese companies build a sustainable growth model in Uzbekistan?Over the past month, our team decided to test one possible answer.

Month 11 in Uzbekistan: Our First Real Business Model Validation

It has been almost one year since we moved to Uzbekistan.Throughout this journey, we've been asking ourselves one important question:What will truly create long-term competitive advantages in this market?A few days ago, I spent an entire afternoon talking with the owner of a large shopping mall in Tashkent. We initially discussed digital transformation, shopping mall systems, and software development.Eventually, the conversation shifted toward the future of retail in Uzbekistan. He said something that stayed with me.

"Pure B2B wholesale is becoming increasingly difficult. The companies that will continue to grow are those that own their relationship with consumers."

More wholesalers and importers are no longer waiting for retailers to sell their products.Instead, they're building their own consumer channels.Because the closer you are to the customer, the greater your pricing power. When I heard this, I smiled.Because one month earlier, we had already started testing exactly this idea.

Why Did We Choose Laundry Detergent?

Many people assume that a first market test should focus on a trending product. We deliberately chose the opposite. Our first product was simply laundry detergent. Why?Because it has almost no storytelling advantage. No premium branding. No celebrity endorsements.Just an ordinary daily necessity. Our logic was straightforward. If we could successfully build a sales model around such an ordinary product, then countless other fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) categories could potentially follow the same path. Our goal wasn't to prove the product. Our goal was to validate the business model.

No Livestreams. No Paid Advertising.

The project officially started in early June.We didn't run live commerce. We didn't invest in paid advertising. We didn't build a sophisticated membership system. We simply connected the resources we already had.The entire process consisted of four steps.

Step 1: Acquire Customers Through Instagram

We used a local Instagram creator with over 400,000 followers to introduce the product to potential customers.Instagram served as our primary public traffic channel.

Step 2: Convert Public Traffic into Telegram Communities

Interested users were guided into our Telegram community.Instead of relying solely on social media algorithms, we wanted to build a customer base that businesses could truly own.

Step 3: Close Sales Through Private Community Operations

Inside Telegram, we nurtured customers through community engagement and one-on-one conversations. No aggressive promotions. No complicated marketing campaigns.Just direct communication and trust.

Step 4: Offline Fulfillment

Once orders were confirmed, products were packed, delivered, and supported through offline operations. This completed the entire transaction cycle.

One Month Later: The Results

Yesterday, we requested the complete sales report from our supplier. The reporting period covered:June 4 – July 5Final result:544 bottles of laundry detergent sold. For an established e-commerce business, this may not seem impressive. For us, however, the number represented something much more important.Throughout the entire experiment:

  • No paid advertising
  • No promotional campaigns
  • No discount events
  • No membership rewards
  • No referral programs
  • Many processes were still handled manually

This was only a proof-of-concept.Yet it successfully demonstrated one critical fact:Instagram + Telegram + Digital Commerce can form a complete customer acquisition and sales ecosystem in Uzbekistan.

We're Not Building Marketing Campaigns. We're Building Growth Systems.

Many people know Feelnet as a company that provides:

  • Instagram Marketing
  • Telegram Community Operations
  • Short-form Video Production
  • Software Development
  • AI Automation

These are valuable services. But they are not our ultimate goal. Our real mission is to help businesses build sustainable growth systems. We believe every successful digital business should consist of four connected components.

Public Traffic

Acquire new customers through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google Search, and other channels.

Private Traffic

Retain customers inside Telegram and WhatsApp communities.

Commerce

Complete transactions through Telegram Mini Apps, online stores, or digital commerce platforms.

Data & Automation

Use CRM systems, ERP solutions, AI automation, and customer data to increase repeat purchases and long-term customer value.Only when these four parts work together can companies build sustainable growth.

Why We Believe Uzbekistan's FMCG Market Has Huge Potential

When people talk about Uzbekistan, electric vehicles often dominate the conversation. We believe another massive opportunity is emerging.Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).Including:

  • Food
  • Beverages
  • Personal Care
  • Household Products
  • Baby Products
  • Home Essentials

These categories naturally generate repeat purchases. When combined with local social media marketing and Telegram private communities, traditional wholesale businesses can be completely reimagined.Laundry detergent is only our first experiment. Many more product categories will follow.
